Modern Day's Noah's Ark ??!?

Its been 5days since the deadly Tsunamis struck off Aceh, and affecting neighbouring coastal countries, and killing tens of thousands, and the death toll continues its count. I haven't wrote anything about it till today - i feel poignant about the whole situation, and it has affected me in many ways. It came as a shock when reports came in on sunday afternoon. My brother and wife was suppose to be in Phuket that very weekend, but thankfully, all flights were fully booked. They were that close to getting hit, and I thank God that they are safe and sound.

i've let my mind wondered when i've watched reports and see the aerial shots that were taken - shots of phi phi. I was there just a month ago... its a disturbing sight - to see the once vibrant, crowded little island destroyed and spawn into a mixture of broken metal, wood pieces, concrete, and all that the tidal waves have torn apart. Dead bodies lie - like everything else, broken, destroyed.

Was trying to spot any news on Lanta, and i manage to get this online http://edmonton.cbc.ca/regional/servlet/View?filename=ed-quake-local20041227

It does make me feel better - at least, Lanta wasn't hit that badly, as the report states, they are fortunate. Thank God for that. . .

It seems so wrong to celebrate and cheers the new year with all these going on. While we are toasting and in our pretty dresses and expensive shoes in a nice, cozy club - there is someone out there salvaging, trying to find a love one, or awaiting the news of a love one. The search continues, restoration is yet on the way... God bless us all. In times like this, i wonder who we can turn to. God ? It is easy to ignore everything around us and move on,ushering in the new year, hoping and crossing our fingers for a brighter 2005. Yet, i choose to place my hope, my trust and faith in Him - who has everything in His hands.

Many might ask why did He allow it to happen then ? - I don't know the answer - if I do, I will be God then. :) But i believe the very same reason why he allowed disaster to strike during noah's time, and thus, the ark was build for refuge.

So, here's wishing everyone a great 2005 ahead - with hope - to know that in all situations, things happen for a reason - let's wait in patience and fret not, for i believe there is a higher Being up there who has it in control.
