MayDay! MayDay! Our plane's.... ....
Had a self-declared long weekend - boarded a plane on thursday nite to KL. Yes. . the long awaited trip. The travelling portion of it was terrible, the stay itself ? Wonderful. (",)
For the very first time, i travelled by AirAsia... sounds exciting isn't it ? New budget flight that created so much hype when it started in october, last month. And, was so proud of myself that i manage to get RM19.99 tickets for our trip up, and RM60 for the trip back home. The fun just doesn't end here - guess what ? We were suppose to board the plane at Senai, a domestic air strip up in Johor, and to find our way that, there's the awesome bit. There was no direct coach from singapore to senai - we had to change a bus at Larkin - the bus interchange in JB. And trust me, its no joy ride up.
When we reach senai, phew!... not knowing that there's more installed for us. We realise that, we need to walk and climb that flimsy ladder up to the plane! it was fun i have to say - first time. But my heart goes out to those with kids in tow and babies in their arms. It isn't really easy.
Seats are free-seating, so, like any typical singaporean. here, i have to mention that i can't help but notice a similarity here between johorians and singaporeans - it seems the close proximity of locality has somehow caused the kiasuism spirit to diffuse over the causeway. Funny! they were all grabbing seats nearest to the airplane exits. Gosh! But there are a few of us who looked at one another sheepishly, ashame at how our counterparts acted.
The flight itself, well - 1 word - Bumpy! Its like hitting air pockets all the time, turbulence out of the 80% of the 30min ride. Can you beat that! and you bet the landing was hard on that tiny little air bus. Jem and i were discussing in mock delight how lucky we were to experience a frequently played scene in hollywood, featuring mexican domestic flight going down. . It was the exact scenario. Really! No kidding! ~ Dim lights, unstable, bumpy feeling, crying babies.. and yes, even the air conditions seem to be broken.. minus the chickens screeching - the picture would have been a flawless depiction.
I have to say that its really cool to experience such a thing - but i guess the trip up from singapore to senai was terrible. I think i'll give airAsia a miss next round.. definately.
